Sexy Santa Barbara

Often compared to the French Riviera, Santa Barbara is a hidden jewel just about 90 miles north of Los Angeles.  It's world's away from the hustle and bustle of the chaotic City of Angels.

It's weather is very comfortable, with highs around 78 degree and approximately 300 days of sun.  Santa Barbara is so gorgeous I recommend it to anyone.

My experience led me to the charming and enticing Four Seasons Santa Barbara.  It's perfectly located right in front of Butterfly Beach and it's sweet decor led the way for a fabulous stay-cation!  How inviting is their front door?  You like?  Entrer!

The Four Seasons in Santa Barbara has a-lot to offer.  First of all, it's super cute, oozes a Mediterranean charm and has an understated elegance.  Your stay includes complimentary use of the Coral Casino and Beach Club right across the street.  Check it out!  All you pool lovers will like this.  Unfortunately, the name sounds a little bit deceiving.  There is no gambling at this club but there is lunch, drinks and an Olympic size swimming pool with a view.  What more do you need?

Lunch at their restaurant called Tydes, with a fantastic view.

There simply is no reason to leave the property at all.  They have everything right at your fingertips.  Great restaurants, a fabulous spa, and tennis courts right on property.

However, if you are craving a little adventure or are looking to enjoy some dining outside the property, here are a few suggestions that I really enjoyed.

1.)  Monarch Preserve in Goleta.  What a darling little hike.  During the winter months Monarch butterflies fly to this preserve to mate.  Apparently there have been times where there are thousands of butterflies.  However on my trip I saw only a few, nonetheless the hike was very pleasant and if you hike far enough you get a gorgeous view of the bluffs and the beach.

2.)  Downtown Santa Barbara and State Street.  A fabulous understated little area of casual cafes, top notch shopping and historical attractions.

Great little lunch place called Arts & Letters Cafe
(They have a website but I prefer Yelp so you can see other "real" photos and reviews!)

Historial landmark.  Santa Barbara Courthouse.

3.)  Annual Santa Barbara Orchid Show.  If you are lucky enough to be in Santa Barbara in March you may want to attend their annual orchid show.  Orchids from different locations show up to be judged and poised.  They also have a section where you can purchase these fine specimens for your very own garden oasis.   Here are a few shots.   www.sborchidshow.com

Lastly, sexy Santa Barbara wouldn't be complete without a few suggestions for dinner.  Two places I absolutely loved was:

1.)  Bella Vista - The Four Seasons Santa Barbara restaurant on property.  Absolutely divine with the perfect seating to watch the sunset!  There is also a fire pit located right in the middle of the seating area to keep you cozy and warm while you sip on your libation of choice.  Their house champagne is lovely.

2.)  San Ysidro Ranch's Stonehouse Restaurant.  Darling little place!  So romantic!  This hotel is known for .... oh hell, read it yourself!  www.sanysidroranch.com  They have two restaurants on property.  I suggest you have a drink at Plow & Angel first then dine under the stars at their Stonehouse Restaurant.  It is amazing, and rated top 50 restaurants in America.  I was very fortunate to celebrate my birthday there and loved it!

Santa Barbara is a wonderful place to visit and I do hope you have the chance to visit soon, and as always...cheers!

TIPS:  Room #703 is a lower category ocean view room but has an amazing wrap around balcony!  It's a fantastic room, which also includes a fireplace and a steam shower.

Avoid the freeway when driving around town.  Everything is so close via surface streets.

The valet at the Four Season SB are top notch.  They have printed directions to most attractions so don't be afraid to ask.

Lastly, Ty Warner who is the owner of this property is also the creator of Beanie Babies!!  So if you are a kid or just a kid at heart, they give out FREE Beanie Babies to guest!  So cool!  I managed to get a few... =)
