All You Need Is Love!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner!  I consider this day the Super Bowl for women and what woman doesn't love Valentine's Day?  This is the perfect time to take a little romantic trip somewhere.

If I could go anywhere on Valentine's Day I would probably pick the most cliche place in the world for romance.  Yes you guessed it.  Paris!  Joie de Vivre!
Yes, typical and cliche but there is no better place for love in my opinion.  However coming to Paris during Valentine's is not the norm and can be rather chilly but that's what I love about Paris on Valentine's Day.  No cheesy over priced set menu's or cheap decor.  Just plain Paris.

For me my favorite place to check in is at the Ritz Paris.  So elegant and refined.  This hotel makes you feel like royalty.  Just stunning and so opulent!  Your date, wife, husband, sister or friend will never forget this place.
There are a million things to do in Paris like the obvious, The Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Notre-Dame of Paris, Montmartre and the Sacre'-Coeur, Place des Vosges, The Invalides, The Palace of Versailles, The Latin Quarter, The Champs-Elysee's and of course the iconic Eiffel Tower.  These are all must sees in Paris however here are a few of the things I like to do in Paris.

First of all, get a really comfortable yet stylish pair of walking shoes (not white!) and just walk the first fewdays. People watching and discovering cute little unexpected cafes are
one of the best things travelers can do instead of making a long list of little must do/must
see list.

Yes, of course go see the Eiffel Tower but plan it just before sunset so you can get both the day time vistas as well as the twinkling magical lights of Paris. See for yourself, it's really a great idea.

Next up on the non-existent list is go for something fabulous to drink.  Now just because I said "drink" it doesn't always mean alcohol, and in this case I'm directing you to the best place in all of Paris to have hot chocolate.  After all, it's cold outside.  For the serious chocolate lover you must go to Angelina Restaurant.  It's located just 10 minutes from the Eiffel Tower by car and you will be experiencing the most divine hot chocolate ever.

Of course this is just a little hot chocolate place with wonderful parisian pastries and if you are a true foodie and want a luxurious and gastronomic fine dining experience look no further and go to Le Meurice Restaurant at the Le Meurice Paris Hotel.  This is a very expensive place and should be reserved for a special occasion unless however money is no object to you.

Now that you have wasted your life savings on dinner per my suggestion, I'd advise you to head back to the hotel and have one last hooray.  The best bar in all of Paris is of course The Hemingway Bar. Located in the Ritz Paris, this place embodies an understated sophistication that's just unmatched anywhere in the world.  Bar Hemingway was the favourite bar of Ernest Hemingway and is said by some to be the birthplace of the Bloody Mary cocktail which was invented for him.
My drink of choice here would be a Cosmopolitan.  It's served at 18.3 degrees C° in a crystal martini glass of the same temperature.  It's Valentine's Day after all and what woman doesn't love a good Cosmo.

Cheers and Au Revoir!
